14 Days Uganda Wildlife SafariDetailed Itinerary.

Day 1: Arrival – Entebbe International Airport

Upon your arrival at Entebbe Airport, you will be received by our driver/guide who will transfer you to the Hotel booked for you. The guide will brief you on how the 14 Days Uganda Wildlife Safari will go. Depending on your arrival time, you will be taken on a brief tour of Kampala City after which the guide will take you back to the hotel for dinner and overnight stay. Accommodation Options: Golf Course Hotel / Cassia Lodge. Meal Plan: (Dinner).

Day 2: Travel to Murchison Falls National Park, Ziwa Rhino Tracking, Top of the Falls Visit.

You will have an early morning breakfast and our driver/ guide will meet you at 6:45am to load your bags into the safari car. You will set off from Kampala at 7:00am to Murchison Falls National Park. You will make a stopover at the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for Rhino tracking which may take you up to 2 hours depending on where the Rhinos are feeding from. Continue for lunch at the Kabalega Dinners on the Gulu highway to Masindi town for re-fueling and continue to the park for the Top of the Murchison Falls visit. Proceed to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay. Accommodation Options: Paraa Safari Lodge/ Fort Murchison Lodge. Meal Plan: (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner).

Day 3: Game Drive in Murchison Falls National Park – Boat Ride to the Falls

You will have an early morning breakfast and embark on a 4 hour game drive in Murchison Falls National Park. Expect to come in close contact with many animal species including; Kobs, Giraffes, Buffaloes, Elephants, Warthogs, Jackals, Elephants, Lions, Leopards among many others. Visit the Hippo Pool during this game drive. You will return to the lodge at around 11:00 am, freshen up, have lunch and relax by the lodge as you prepare for a boat ride in the afternoon.

Be at Paraa Jetty in time for the afternoon boat ride to the Murchison Falls which takes off at 2:00pm. The 3 hour boat ride gives you an opportunity to catch great sightings of various animal species especially those which like to live near water, such as; Nile Crocodiles, Hippos, Buffaloes, Elephants,  Black and White Colobus Monkeys with lots of bird species. You will be stunned when you finally come up to the Murchison Falls. Take great photos.

Day 4: Travel to Fort Portal Town

You will have an early morning breakfast and get ready for the journey to Fort Portal town. If you choose to spend the night at Paraa Safari Lodge, you will need to be ready to cross the Nile River by Ferry at 7:00am. You will drive along the rift valley Lake Albert with a great view point.

Continue the drive through Hoima town for lunch at Kolping Hotel, arrive in Kyenjonjo on a tarmac road later arriving in Fort Portal town for dinner and overnight stay. Meal Plan: (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner).

Day 5: Visit Semuliki National Park and Kibale Forest National Park

Take an early morning drive to Semuliki National Park which takes close to 2 hours. Enter the park and start the nature walk activities, walking through the pygmy families, visit the hot springs, walk along the Semuliki river with lots of birds species, hippos and much more. Return later and drive to Kibale Forest National Park for an overnight. Accommodation Options: Primates Lodge / Rwetera Safari Park. Meal Plan: (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner).

Day 6: Kibale Chimpanzee Tracking / Chimpanzee Habituation

Have an early morning breakfast, and get to the briefing area at 7:45 am. Chimpanzee Tracking starts at 8:00am and could take up to 2 to 4 hours depending on how soon you locate the Chimpanzees. Return later in time for lunch. Have an evening nature walk at the Bigodi wetland for yet another chance of seeing other primates like the vervet monkeys and lots of Birds. Accommodation Options: Primates Lodge / Rwetera Safari Park. Meal Plan: (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner).

Day 7: Travel to Queen Elizabeth National Park

After breakfast, embark on a 2 hour journey to Queen Elizabeth National Park as you drive along the crater lakes and on to the main road. Check in on time at your lodge for lunch and get ready for an evening visit to lake Katwe for a local salt mining tour and a visit to the local fishing village. Return to the lodge for dinner and on overnight stay. Accommodation Options: Kasenyi Safari Camp / Katara Lodge. Meal Plan: (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner).

Day 8: Queen Elizabeth National Park Game Drive – Kazinga Channel Boat Ride

You will have an early morning breakfast and head into the park on a game drive in search of animals including; lions, leopards, elephants, hippos, antelopes among many others. Later return to the lodge for lunch and relax by the lodge as you prepare for the afternoon boat ride on the Kazinga Channel. At 4:00pm, you will have a 2 hour boat ride on the Kazinga Channel with more sightings of buffaloes in the water, elephants along the Katwe Fishing Village, crocodiles and a number of bird species. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay. Accommodation Options: Kasenyi Safari Camp / Katara Lodge. Meal Plan: (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner).

Day 9: Travel to Ishasha Sector and Bwindi Forest National Park.

Have an early morning breakfast and head to Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park which is famous for Tree Climbing Lions which are usually seen lurking in fig trees in the park. Expect to see other animal species as well. Also, get along the Ntungwe river separating Congo and Uganda to see so many hippos in the pool. Proceed to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park in time for lunch. Spend the afternoon relaxing by the lodge as you prepare to track mountain gorillas the following day. Accommodation Options: Buhoma Lodge / Silverback lodge. Meal Plan: (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner).

Day 10: Gorilla Tracking in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest

You will have early morning breakfast and report to the park headquarters by 7:30am for briefing on the Gorilla tracking exercise. After the briefing session, which is at the entrance of the park and starting point for Gorilla tracking you shall penetrate the Impenetrable Forest to look for these gentle giants under the guidance of a knowledgeable ranger guide. The time taken tracking highly depends on how fast you will locate a gorilla community. It can take from a few minutes to an entire day. You shall return from this thrilling but highly tiresome adventure to a relaxation in your lodge. Accommodation Options: Buhoma Lodge / Silverback Lodge. Meal Plan: (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner).

Day 11: Nature / Community Walk to Visit the Batwa People in Bwindi

The Batwa people in Bwindi, or the “Twa” as called by the locals, are one of the last pygmie people found in Uganda. They leave in Bwindi forest and still live the stone-age life style in the Bwindi area. The tour to the community of the pygmies will take you deep into their daily life style, old farming techniques, and their unique fire making in wood and long jumps. It is said the Batwa people have lived in the thick forest for more than 4000 years. Accommodation Options: Buhoma Lodge / Silverback Lodge. Meal Plan: (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner).

Day 12: Travel to Lake Bunyonyi.

Today is a day for you to relax. After breakfast, you will drive to Lake Bunyonyi, Uganda’s deepest lake, through the Ruhija section of Bwindi Forest and along Lake Bunyonyi. You shall relax by the beautiful lake as you take a couple of drinks. Accommodation Options: Birdnest lodge / Bunyonyi Overland Camp. Meal Plan: (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner).

Day 13: Morning Canoeing and Travel to Lake Mburo National Park

You will have a morning canoe ride on Lake Bunyonyi and later drive to Lake Mburo National Park for an evening boat ride. Lake Mburo National Park is a small park and you shall mainly see lots of Zebras, Topis, Waterbucks, Elands, Giraffes and a number of bird species. Continue to the lake for an evening boat ride. Accommodation Options: Mburo Lodge / Mihingo Lodge. Meal Plan: (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner).

Day 14: Morning Game Drive – Travel Back to Kampala for an Evening Flight.

You will take an early morning nature walk in search of the nocturnal park creatures like owls, hyenas etc. Check out of the lodge, have breakfast and continue back to Kampala for an evening / latenight flight. You will make a stopover at the Uganda Equator for lunch and to take some photos or buy souvenirs to take back home from your Uganda Safari.
