3 Days Bwindi Gorilla Trekking SafariDay 1: From Kampala to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest

A Verdant Safaris representative will pick you up at 8:00 am from your hotel in Kampala. You will then leave Kampala for Bwindi in the western part of Uganda which is a long journey but quite scenic. Make a stop at the Equator crossing for photos and some shopping and then proceed to Mbarara. Your next stop will be at Igongo Cultural Center before you reach Mbarara town. There is a lot to see at Igongo Cultural Center including Ankole Museum. You will then proceed to Mbarara town and stop at Agip Motel for your lunch break. Your Bwindi gorilla trekking safari resumes after lunch as you proceed to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest from Mbarara.

Bwindi Impenetrable Forest is a highland rainforest, filled with primates and exotic birds, valleys, hilltops and papyrus swamps and very popular for tracking mountain gorillas. Dinner and overnight stay at either Buhoma Lodge (High end facility), Engagi Safari Lodge, (Mid range facility) or Buhoma Community Bandas (Budget facility) Meal plan: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.

Day 2: Bwindi Gorilla Trekking Safari

Begin the day with breakfast ready for this Bwindi gorilla trekking safari, which begins at 8:00am with a briefing from the Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA) staff. Please be advised that you will need to carry along with you a rain jacket, drinking water, snacks, jungle boots, lunch boxes and all the necessary gear to track the Mountain Gorillas in Bwindi. The guides will lead you inside the jungle to see the mountain gorillas in Bwindi for a group you have been booked for. Gorilla tracking in Bwindi may take between 2 and 6 hours. Spend the afternoon on a foot safari around the local communities living around the park. Dinner and overnight stay at either Buhoma Lodge (High end facility), Engagi Safari Lodge, (Mid range facility) or Buhoma community Bandas (Budget facility) Meal plan: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.

Day 3: Bwindi Forest – Kampala/Entebbe Out

After your morning breakfast, you will drive back to Kampala through Kasese – Fort Portal road via Queen Elizabeth National Park for en route game viewing. If you are lucky you may spot the Elephants, Antelopes and the Warthogs. Catch the great views of the magnificent Rwenzori Mountains and arrive in Fort Portal in time for lunch, after which you will proceed to Kampala/Entebbe to catch your evening flight back home. Meal plan: Breakfast, Lunch.
