Day 1: Kampala or Entebbe to Murchison Falls National Park
Your safari begins with an early morning pick-up from your hotel in Kampala or Entebbe, followed by a scenic journey towards Murchison Falls National Park in north-western Uganda. You will travel through the Ugandan countryside, passing villages, farms, roadside markets and local communities while enjoying the changing scenery along the route. Depending on your departure time and interests, you may make a stop at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for an optional rhino tracking experience before continuing towards the national park. You will have lunch en route and then proceed towards Murchison Falls, Uganda’s largest protected area. As you approach the park, you will begin noticing the changing landscape, with open savannah, woodland and palm-dotted plains becoming increasingly prominent. You will arrive at your lodge later in the afternoon, check in and have time to relax, enjoy the surroundings and prepare for your first full day of wildlife viewing.

Day 2: Murchison Falls Morning Game Drive and Victoria Nile Boat Cruise
You will wake up early and enjoy breakfast before setting off for an exciting morning game drive through the northern sector of Murchison Falls National Park. The early morning is an excellent time for wildlife viewing because many animals are active before the temperatures become warmer. Your experienced safari guide will take you along different tracks in search of elephants, Rothschild’s giraffes, buffaloes, Uganda kobs, Jackson’s hartebeests, waterbucks and warthogs. You will also explore areas where lions may be encountered, while leopards can sometimes be spotted with good fortune. After the game drive, you will return to your lodge for lunch and some time to rest. In the afternoon, you will embark on a boat cruise along the Victoria Nile towards the base of Murchison Falls, where you can see large pods of hippos, Nile crocodiles, elephants and buffaloes along the riverbanks. The cruise also provides excellent opportunities for birdwatching, with species such as African fish eagles, kingfishers, herons, egrets and other water birds commonly seen around the river.

Day 3: Murchison Falls, Top of the Falls and Afternoon Game Drive
After breakfast, you will set out to explore the spectacular Murchison Falls and surrounding areas. You will travel towards the top of the falls, where the enormous volume of water from the Victoria Nile is forced through a narrow gorge before plunging into the gorge below. Standing at the viewpoint, you will experience the impressive power of the river and have an opportunity to take photographs of one of Uganda’s most famous natural attractions. You will then enjoy lunch before heading out for an afternoon game drive across another section of the park. The afternoon safari allows you to explore the savannah at a different time of day, when you may encounter elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, Uganda kobs, hartebeests and other antelope species. Your guide will also search for predators and explain the behaviour, habitats and conservation of the different species you encounter. You will return to your lodge in the evening for dinner and a relaxing final night in the wilderness.

Day 4: Murchison Falls National Park to Kampala or Entebbe and Departure
After breakfast, you will check out and begin your journey from Murchison Falls National Park towards Kampala or Entebbe. Depending on your departure schedule, you may enjoy a short morning game drive as you leave the park, providing one final opportunity to spot wildlife such as giraffes, elephants, buffaloes, Uganda kobs and warthogs. You will then continue through the countryside, passing villages, farms, plantations and roadside trading centres while enjoying the scenery of northern and central Uganda. You will have lunch en route before continuing towards Kampala or Entebbe. If your international flight is scheduled for later in the evening, you may make a brief stop at a suitable location for photographs or refreshments along the way.
