Day 1: Kampala or Entebbe to Murchison Falls National Park
Your safari begins with an early morning pick-up from your hotel in Kampala or Entebbe, followed by a scenic journey towards Murchison Falls National Park in north-western Uganda. You will travel through Uganda’s countryside, passing farms, villages, roadside markets and local communities as you make your way towards the park. Depending on your departure time, you may have an optional stop at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for rhino tracking before continuing northwards. You will have lunch en route and then proceed towards Murchison Falls National Park, Uganda’s largest national park. As you enter the park, you may already begin seeing wildlife such as elephants, Uganda kobs, warthogs, hartebeests and giraffes. You will continue towards your lodge, check in and relax as you prepare for your first full day of wildlife viewing.

Day 2: Murchison Falls Game Drive and Victoria Nile Boat Cruise
You will start the day with an early breakfast before heading out for a morning game drive through the northern sector of Murchison Falls National Park. The cooler morning hours offer excellent conditions for wildlife viewing as many animals are active around the savannah plains. Your guide will take you through different tracks in search of elephants, buffaloes, Rothschild’s giraffes, Uganda kobs, waterbucks, Jackson’s hartebeests and warthogs. You will also explore areas where lions and leopards may be encountered, although sightings of predators cannot be guaranteed. After the game drive, you will return to your lodge for lunch and some relaxation. In the afternoon, you will take a boat cruise along the Victoria Nile towards the base of the magnificent Murchison Falls, where you can see hippos, crocodiles, elephants and numerous water birds along the riverbanks.

Day 3: Murchison Falls to Kibale National Park
After breakfast, you will leave Murchison Falls National Park and begin your journey southwards towards Kibale National Park. The drive takes you through changing landscapes, from the open savannahs around Murchison Falls to the green countryside and agricultural areas of western Uganda. You will pass through local communities, farms, plantations and rural trading centres, giving you a glimpse into everyday life in Uganda. You will have lunch along the way before continuing towards the Kibale Forest region. As you approach the national park, the landscape becomes increasingly lush, with forested hills and dense vegetation surrounding the area. You will arrive at your lodge later in the afternoon, check in and have time to relax after the long journey. The peaceful forest surroundings will prepare you for the exciting chimpanzee tracking and primate experiences planned for the following day.

Day 4: Chimpanzee Tracking and Bigodi Wetland Experience
Today you will explore the extraordinary primate diversity of Kibale National Park with an exciting chimpanzee tracking experience. After breakfast, you will report to the park headquarters for a briefing before entering the forest with experienced guides and trackers. As you walk along forest trails, you will search for habituated chimpanzee communities while enjoying the spectacular vegetation and sounds of the tropical forest. In addition to chimpanzees, you may encounter other primates such as red-tailed monkeys, black-and-white colobus monkeys, blue monkeys and grey-cheeked mangabeys. After completing your chimpanzee tracking experience, you will return to the lodge for lunch and some time to relax. In the afternoon, you will visit Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary for a guided nature walk, offering opportunities for birdwatching, primate viewing and learning about the wetland ecosystem and communities surrounding Kibale.

You will have lunch en route before continuing towards the park. Depending on your arrival time, you may enjoy an introductory game drive as you enter Queen Elizabeth National Park, providing your first opportunity to encounter its wildlife. The park is home to elephants, buffaloes, Uganda kobs, waterbucks, warthogs and several species of antelope. Lions and leopards are also present in the park and may be encountered during your game drives. You will explore different areas in search of elephants, buffaloes, Uganda kobs, warthogs, waterbucks and other antelopes. Your guide will also search for lions and leopards, using their knowledge of animal behaviour and the park to improve your chances of encountering predators. After the game drive, you will return to the lodge for lunch and some relaxation. In the afternoon, you will embark on a memorable boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel, where you can see large numbers of hippos, Nile crocodiles, elephants, buffaloes and an impressive range of water birds along the shoreline.

The journey offers an opportunity to appreciate the changing scenery as you move from the wildlife-rich plains of Queen Elizabeth towards the distinctive landscapes of Lake Mburo. You will have lunch en route before continuing to the park. Depending on your arrival time, you may enjoy a short game drive as you enter Lake Mburo National Park, where you can begin looking for zebras, impalas, topi, buffaloes and warthogs. The park is particularly known for its large populations of zebras and impalas, as well as its acacia woodland, wetlands and picturesque hills. You will check into your lodge, enjoy dinner and relax in preparation for the following day’s activities.

Day 8: Lake Mburo Game Drive and Guided Nature Walk
You will begin the day with an early morning game drive through Lake Mburo National Park, exploring its savannah plains, woodland and wetland habitats. The park is home to zebras, impalas, elands, topi, Uganda kobs, buffaloes, warthogs and numerous bird species, giving you excellent opportunities for wildlife viewing and photography. Your guide will explain the behaviour of the different species and help you identify animal tracks and signs along the way. After the game drive, you will return to your lodge for breakfast and some relaxation before lunch. In the afternoon, you will enjoy a guided nature walk accompanied by a trained ranger, allowing you to experience the park from a different perspective. Walking through the wilderness provides opportunities to observe smaller wildlife, birds, plants and animal tracks that can easily be missed from a safari vehicle. Day 9: Lake Mburo to Entebbe via the Equator
After breakfast, you will leave Lake Mburo National Park and begin your journey towards Entebbe or Kampala. Depending on your schedule, you may enjoy a short final game drive as you leave the park, giving you another opportunity to see zebras, impalas, buffaloes and other wildlife. You will then continue through the countryside, passing farms, villages and roadside trading centres as you travel towards the Equator. You will make a stop at the Uganda Equator crossing, where you can take photographs, explore local craft shops and purchase souvenirs. The Equator provides a memorable opportunity to stand in both the northern and southern hemispheres at the same time. You will have lunch around the Equator before continuing towards Entebbe. On arrival, you will check into your accommodation, relax and reflect on the wildlife and primate experiences you have enjoyed throughout your safari.
